About the event

Gliwice Cardiac Rehabilitation Workshop
12-14.09.2025

This cardiac rehabilitation workshop is focused on the exercise training programming for patients with cardiovascular diseases. The event is divided into three distinct modules: exercise testing, exercise programming and exercise training. By incorporating both lectures and interactive practical part workshop participants should be familiar with main topics. Course includes the optional cardiopulmonary exercise testing workshop conducted by the expert in this field.

The event is dedicated to:

exercise specialists (physiotherapists, exercise physiologists),
physiotherapy students,
nurses,
physicians involved in cardiac rehabilitation field (cardiologists, rehabilitation and internal medicine specialists).

The workshop is partially accredited by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and is held under the patronage of the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Exercise Physiology Group of the Polish Cardiac Society. The participants will receive additional online course materials (appendix, simple exercise calculator and bibliography).

adam staron

Adam Piotr Staroń, MD, PhD

A cardiologist with over 20 years (since 2001) experience in clinical cardiology and almost 10 years’ experience in cardiac rehabilitation (since 2014). In 2014 he established Cardiac Rehabilitation Department in Katowice, Poland, and implemented there as first in Poland yoga and tai chi. He has been working there until Dec 2015, overseeing 11- beds residential Cardiac Rehabilitation Department. Between 2016 and 2022 Work he has been working at Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he established the first cardiac rehabilitation program in the Kingdom in 2018, then he has written as co-author curriculum of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Fellowship for certified cardiologists and physiatrists, approved by Saudi Council for Health Specialties.

In 2022 as main author he published a textbook: “Exercise prescription in cardiac rehabilitation” published by MDPI. In Febr 2023 he established Cardiac Rehabilitation Department in Gliwice, Poland (24 beds residential cardiac rehabilitation department specifically dedicated to early post-myocardial infarction patients). Currently he is serving as a Head of Cardiac Rehabilitation Department in the Upper Silesian Medical Center in Katowice, Poland.

During last 10 years he attended numerous international and domestic cardiac rehabilitation courses, e.g., Bern (EAPC course), Hong Kong, Nottingham (BACPR course). Dr Staron serves as a Board Member of the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Exercise Physiology Group of the Polish Cardiac Society.

Jerzy Rybicki, MD, PhD

Specialist in internal medicine and rehabilitation. He has been working at Repty Rehabilitation Center in Tarnowskie Gory, Poland since 1983 until 2017 He served as a Head of Cardiac Rehabilitation Department (50-beds residential cardiac rehabilitation) between 2006 and 2017.

Dr Rybicki has been actively involved as Board Member of the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Exercise Physiology Group of the Polish Cardiac Society in development of cardiac rehabilitation programs. He is an author and co-author of 6 textbooks published in Polish language and 63 peer-reviewed articles. Area of his special interest is exercise testing –Dr Rybicki implemented individual ramp tests on treadmill known in Poland as Rybicki 5, Rybicki 6.5 etc. to attain specific number of METs exactly at 10 min of the test.

Event regulations

GENERAL PROVISIONS

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Workshops, hereinafter referred to as the "Event", take place from October 5, 2024, to October 6, 2024, in Gliwice.
The Event is organized by: P.H.U. Technomex Sp. z o.o. located in Gliwice, at 15 Szparagowa Street, KRS: 0000127793, NIP: 631 000 01 38, REGON: 008118451, hereinafter referred to as the "Organizer". The provisions of these Regulations are an integral part of the Participation Application for the Event and are binding on all Participants.

PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION

The conditions for participation in the Event are:
1. Registration for the Event exclusively via the application form available on the Event website, understood as the correct completion of all required fields in the form.
2. Payment in the manner specified on the Event website.
3. The transfer title should indicate the name, surname, and individual participant code indicated in the Preliminary Registration Confirmation.
Proper registration is completed with a message displayed on the website automatically after completing the form and a similar message sent to the email address provided during the registration process (Preliminary Registration Confirmation).
In case of missing confirmation, the form should be completed again or contact the Organizer at: bbmigocka@x-rehab.pl.
The message confirming the correct completion of the form is not the Final Confirmation of Participation in the Event.
After the payment is booked, the Participant will receive the Final Confirmation of Participation from the Organizer, entitling them to participate in the Event.
The Final Confirmation of Participation is sent to the Participants to the email address provided during registration, no later than 7 days before the Event starts.
In case of later registration, the Participant will receive the Final Confirmation of Participation within 2 days of booking the payment.
The Organizer has the right to deny the Participant participation in the Event if they do not have the Registration Confirmation or if they do not meet the requirements of the registration group selected in the registration form.

PAYMENT TERMS AND INVOICES

Prices and payment terms for Participation in the Event are posted on the Event website.
The Organizer will issue an invoice for participation in the Event by the last day of the month in which the payment was booked on the account provided during registration and will send it electronically to the email address provided during registration or by traditional mail to the correspondence details provided during registration.
The VAT invoice will be issued in accordance with the applicable tax regulations and will include a 23% VAT rate.
The VAT invoice for participation in the Event will be issued based on the data provided by the ordering party in the electronic form, in the "Invoice Data" section.
In the case of choosing an individual invoice (natural person), the payment is immediately recorded in the cash register.
Any invoice corrections are possible only upon a written, justified request from the buyer for whom the invoice was issued.
Changing the type of buyer is not allowed.
The Organizer can issue a pro-forma invoice upon the Participant's request sent to the email address: bbmigocka@x-rehab.pl.

CANCELLATION TERMS

The Participant may cancel their participation in the Event only via email to: bbmigocka@x-rehab.pl.
In case of cancellation, the Participant is entitled to a refund:
1. If the Organizer receives the cancellation statement by September 5, 2024, they are entitled to keep 50% of the total fee.
2. If the Organizer receives the cancellation statement after September 5, 2024, they are entitled to keep the entire received payment.
The Event Organizer reserves the right to change the speakers and make changes to the program for reasons beyond their control. The Participant is not entitled to a refund in such a case.
In the event of a refund of all or part of the registration fee by the Organizer, the Organizer has 60 days to make the refund from the date the signed corrective invoice is delivered by the Participant to the Organizer's correspondence address.

COMPLAINTS

Any complaints from Participants towards the Organizer should be submitted electronically to: bbmigocka@x-rehab.pl.
Participants' complaints can be submitted no later than 14 days from the end of the Event.
After the above-mentioned deadlines, no complaints will be considered.

FINAL PROVISIONS

If the Event does not take place for reasons dependent on the Organizer, the Organizer will promptly refund the amounts paid by Participants to the bank accounts they indicate.
If the Event does not take place for reasons beyond the Organizer's control, the Participant is not entitled to compensation or a refund of any fees related to participation in the Event, as well as the costs of additional services commissioned by the Participants to the Organizer.
The Organizer may change the date and place of the Event without giving any reason.
Any disputes arising from participation in the Event will be settled by the court competent for the Organizer's registered office.
Sending a registration application from the Event website implies acceptance of the provisions of these Regulations, as well as compliance with the order regulations and all other arrangements made between the Participant and the Organizer.
The Event Participant agrees to the free: (a) recording, use, and dissemination of their image and voice recorded by the Organizer during congress sessions in the reporting material documenting the course of the Event. The work developed with the use of the image and voice may be used and disseminated by the Organizer on all fields of exploitation specified in Article 50 of the Copyright and Related Rights Act, in particular in all (regardless of form) reporting materials, as well as by placing these materials in any media (Internet, press, radio, television, leaflets, etc.), recording and reproducing by any technique, including magnetic recording, optical, printing, reprographic, digital, public performance, or public playback, at any open and closed events, exhibition, display, rental, lending, broadcasting, and retransmission. The consent is irrevocable and not limited territorially.
During the Event, the Participant is required to comply with the internal regulations in force at the congress facility.
In matters not regulated by these Regulations, the provisions of the Civil Code shall apply.
The personal data provided in the registration form will be subject to the Personal Data Protection Act of August 29, 1997 (Journal of Laws No. 133 of October 29, 1997, item 833).
The Organizer is not responsible for Participants' belongings that may be lost, destroyed, or stolen during the Event.
Participants are fully materially responsible for any damage they cause.
