Adam Piotr Staroń, MD, PhD

 

A cardiologist with over 20 years (since 2001) experience in clinical cardiology and almost 10 years’ experience in cardiac rehabilitation (since 2014).  In 2014 he established Cardiac Rehabilitation Department in Katowice, Poland, and implemented there as first in Poland yoga and tai chi. He has been working there until Dec 2015, overseeing 11- beds residential Cardiac Rehabilitation Department. Between 2016 and 2022 Work he has been working at Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he established the first cardiac rehabilitation program in the Kingdom in 2018, then he has written as co-author curriculum of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Fellowship for certified cardiologists and physiatrists, approved by Saudi Council for Health Specialties.

In 2022 as main author he published a textbook: “Exercise prescription in cardiac rehabilitation” published by MDPI. In Febr 2023 he established Cardiac Rehabilitation Department in Gliwice, Poland (24 beds residential cardiac rehabilitation department specifically dedicated to early post-myocardial infarction patients). Currently he is serving as a Head of Cardiac Rehabilitation Department in the Upper Silesian Medical Center in Katowice, Poland.

During last 10 years he attended numerous international and domestic cardiac rehabilitation courses, e.g., Bern (EAPC course), Hong Kong, Nottingham (BACPR course). Dr Staron serves as a Board Member of the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Exercise Physiology Group of the Polish Cardiac Society.

Monika Socha-Masztafiak, PhD

 

Physiotherapist. A graduate of physiotherapy at the Jarzy Kukuczka Academy of Physical Education in Katowice, Poland. PhD holder in physical culture. Monika  Socha-Masztafiak is an academic teacher at the Upper Silesian University and the Academy of Physical Education in Katowice.

She participated in many courses and certified training in cardiology and cardiac rehabilitation.

Between 2013 and 2017, she has been working at the AMED Rehabilitation Clinic in Katowice. Since 2020, coordinator of cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation at the Fizjo Factory Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Center in Chorzów as well as an employee of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department at the Municipal Hospital in Gliwice.

She specializes in cardiac rehabilitation, especially in high-intensity interval training.

Tomasz Łosień, MD, PhD

 

Physiotherapist. Graduate of the Jerzy Kukuczka Physical Education Academy in Katowice in the field of Physiotherapy and Physical Education.

Specialist in physiotherapy (2010). In 2012, he obtained a doctoral degree in medical sciences. He is an academic employee (assistant professor) at the Silesian Medical University. Participant in numerous courses and certified trainings in the field of physiotherapy.

From 2001 to 2018, physiotherapist at GCZD (SPSK No. 6) in Katowice (2004-2007 Coordinator of the Rehabilitation Unit, 2014-2018 Coordinator of the Physiotherapy Team at the Neurological Rehabilitation Department). Since 2020, employee at X-Rehab Gliwice

 

Mario Milun, MD, PhD

 

Croatian cardiologist with strong interest in echocardiography and cardiopulmonary exercise testing.

Dr Milun performs around 400 CPET studies annually. Are of his interest is combined CPET and echocardiography approach (CPET-ESE)
